Gov AbdulRazaq Presents Appointment Letter To New Onijagbo Of Ijagbo

He assured him that he would continue to promote peace in his domain and beyond.

The Kwara State Government has presented a letter of appointment to the new Onijagbo of Ijagbo, Oba Buhari Adeniyi Sharafadeen.

The Governor who was represented by the Commissioner of Local Government, Chieftaincy Affairs and Community Development, Mr Lafia Aliyu Kora-Sabi, presented the letter of appointment to the paramount ruler at the conference hall of the Ministry of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs Ilorin.

The Commissioner thanked Ijagbo Kingmakers and indigenes for the peaceful manner in which the succession exercise was conducted, despite the number of candidates that signified.

According to him, As you are all aware, the new monarch cannot do it alone, he needs your support and cooperation for peace to reign and development to take place.

“I, therefore, urge you all to continue to cooperate and join hands with the new monarch to move your Community forward.

“Today’s occasion is a further demonstration of the respect and regards that the present Administration, under the distinguished leadership of His Excellency Mallam Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq, has for Royal Fathers in the State and I am happy to see this large turn-out of people that have come from far and near to witness this occasion. With this clear demonstration of goodwill, I want to call on Your Highness to reciprocate this gesture in the discharge of your responsibilities to the Community without fear or favour.

“I wish to once again congratulate Your Royal Highness and the good people of Ijagbo on this glorious occasion. It is my fervent prayer that the reign of Your Royal Highness will enhance peace, progress and development in Ijagbo in particular and the State at large,” the statement read.

In his response, the new Onijagbo of Ijagbo, His Royal Majesty, Oba Buhari Adeniyi Sharafadeen, thanked Governor AbdulRazaq for his appointment. He assured him that he would continue to promote peace in his domain and beyond.
