Ilorin, Kwara State– Fire outbreak on Wednesday morning at the Sobi Specialist Hospital in Ilorin, Kwara State

The fire, which reportedly started around 8:35am at the COVID-19 Centre in the facility.

A hospital source told Daily Trust “an unidentified” person had set an underground fire which spread to the COVID-19 Centre.

Meanwhile, the spokesman of the Kwara State Fire Service, Hassan Adekunle, confirmed the development during a telephone interview with Daily Trust corr on Wednesday evening.

“Upon arrival, the firemen found one of the six wards in the centre ablaze and immediately began firefighting efforts to contain it.

“But no lives were lost during the incident”, he said.
