Father Arrested For Raping 17-Year-Old Daughter
He threatened to kill her if she refused to allow him.
Operatives men of Ogun State police command have arrested a man, Mr Olusegun Oluwole for allegedly raping his 17 year – old daughter.
Oluwole Segun, 46, was accused of forcefully having carnal knowledge of his 17-year-old daughter.
The suspect, with six children, was taken into custody after a complaint was lodged against him at a local police station at Ibara by his daughter.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, spokesperson, Ogun State Police Command, said the victim came in the company of some corpsmen to report the matter.
The girl claimed she was sleeping in their one-room apartment in Amolaso area of Abeokuta at about 11:30 pm, when his father, having observed others, was fast asleep, suddenly grabbed her and forcefully had sex with her.
She said he threatened to kill her if she refused to allow him.
“Upon the report, the DPO, Ibara division, CSP Bernard Egbondiya, quickly detailed his detectives to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested.
“On interrogation, the father of six, who confessed to the crime pleaded for forgiveness, claiming not knowing what came over him when he committed the crime,” Oyeyemi said.
Lanre Bankole, Ogun’s Commissioner of Police ordered the transfer of the suspect to State Criminal Investigation Departments for further investigation and possible prosecution, while the victim was taken to a general hospital for medical treatment.
