Edo Police Arrest 3 For Stealing Cars During Church Crusade

Blessing confessed that the phone was given to her by her man friend.

Benin, Edo State–  The Edo State Police Force has arrested three suspects over the alleged theft of two vehicles during a church crusade.

The arrested suspects identified as Augustine Ikponmwoba (62), Roland Ibizugbe (63), and Blessing Joseph (36).

The Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adeboye, while parading the suspects, stating that they were arrested through phone tracking. The stolen phone, along with vehicles, led to the arrest after one suspect gifted it to his girlfriend, Blessing Joseph.

The CP said Mrs. Joy Mordi and Mr Peter E. Abiwo reported to the police that they parked their cars at the Garrick Memorial Ground to attend a crusade and that after closing from the crusade they discovered that their vehicles had been stolen, and that during investigation, the female suspect, Blessing Joseph, who was in possession of the phone left in Mordi’s vehicle, was arrested.

Adeboye further said that Blessing confessed that the phone was given to her by her man friend, Augustine Ikponmwoba.

“Ikponmwoba’s arrest led the police to Roland Ibizugbe who was also arrested. The suspects have confessed to the crime and would be charged to court,” he added.
