DSS Reportedly Arrests NIRSAL Boss

Department of State Services has reportedly arrested Abbas Masanawa, Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria’s Incentive-Based Risk Sharing System for Agricultural Lending (NIRSAL).

It was gathered that the NIRSAL Boss who is reportedly said to have been removed from his position, is presently being held by the DSS as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged criminal activities.

Before his current role, Masanawa previously served as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Security Printing and Minting Company (NSPMC), commonly known as ‘The MINT.’ His appointment to succeed Abdulhammeed took place after his tenure at NSPMC.

While the exact details surrounding the reasons for his detention remain unclear. However, reports are indicating that Masanawa had experienced a previous arrest, and subsequent release, and has recently been re-arrested by the Department of State Services (DSS).
