Court Sacks Abure As LP National Chairman, Recognizes Lamidi Apapa

Julius Abure has been removed from his position as the national chairman of the Labour Party by a court of appeal in Owerri, the capital of Imo state.

The court has acknowledged Lamidi Apapa as the new National Chairman of the Labour Party and has invalidated the governorship candidacy of Senator Athan Achonu of Imo State and other members of the Abure-led LP faction.

The court has also directed the Independent National Electoral Commission to promptly recognize and publish the names of all governorship candidates put forward by the Apapa-led National Working Committee in Imo, Bayelsa, and Kogi states.
