Court Jails Corps Member, 4 Others For Cybercrime In Ilorin

The 28-year-old corp member guilty of the offenses of cybercrime

A Kwara state high court judge, Justice Adebayo Yusuf, has sentenced a corps member serving in Igara Local Government Area of Edo State, Adamu Shaibu, to nine years imprisonment over internet fraud-related offenses.

The court, on Monday, found the 28-year-old corp member guilty of the offenses of cybercrime preferred against him by the Ilorin Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

Shaibu, an indigene of Lokoja Local Government Area of Kogi State was convicted alongside four others: Olasupo Abdullateef Olawale, from Iwo Local Government Area of Osun State, Aguh Henry Chicherem from Orsu Local Government Area of Imo State, one Ridwan Abiodun Abdulganiyu and Qozeem Shuaib from Ilorin West local Government Area of Kwara State, before Justice Adebayo Yusuf of the Kwara State High Court, Ilorin.

Meanwhile, the Ilorin Zonal Command of the EFCC on Monday, October 17, 2022 arraigned the defendants on separate charge, to which they all pleaded guilty.
