BREAKING: Supreme Court Upholds Dauda Lawal’s Election As Zamfara Governor

Abuja, Nigeria–  The Supreme Court has affirmed Dauda Lawal’s election as the Governor of Zamfara State under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

In the judgment read by Justice Emmanuel Agim, the Apex Court holds that the Court of Appeal judgment of November 16, 2023 “has no evidential foundation” and thereby sets it aside.

The apex court  set aside the previous judgment of the Court of Appeal Abuja, which had declared the Governorship Election as inconclusive and ordered a re-run in three Local Government Areas of the state.
