BREAKING: INEC Declares Adamawa Guber Election Inconclusive

The returning officer for the election announced this at the state collation centre

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has declared the March 18 governorship election in Adamawa State inconclusive.

The incumbent, Governor Ahmadu Fintiri, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, polled 421,524, while the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, Senator Aishatu Dahiru Binani scored 390, 275.

The returning officer for the election announced this at the state collation centre in Yola on Monday night.

He said the election did not hold in 47 wards across 21 Local Government Areas of the State, hence a winner could not be declared.

Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) was leading Senator Aisha Binani of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the election which did not end on first ballot.
