Kaduna State– Panic and chaos gripped Kuriga town in Kaduna State as bandits stormed the LEA Primary School, Kuriga (1), in the early hours of Thursday, March 7th and abducted dozens of pupils

Daily Trust reports that the number of persons abducted couldn’t be ascertained as of press time, but residents said they were about 100.

It was gathered that the school relocated to Kuriga town a few years ago due to insecurity concerns, abandoning their former school building located outside the town.

A resident of the community, Shitu, who confirmed the incident, said most of the pupils ran out of their classes when they sighted the bandits on the school premises.

Another resident, Lawal Kuriga, said the abducted victims were marched into the forest.

Neither the state governor nor the police have reacted to this development.
