Bandits Invade Niger State Communities, Abduct 17
The assailants targeted the residence of a serving policeman within the community, firing shots at him.
Minna, Niger State– Bandits stormed Garam town and Zhibi community, both located in the Tafa Local Government Area of Niger State, and kidnapped 17 residents.
It was gathered that the abduction took place in two separate attacks carried out by bandits on Wednesday, January 16.
In a report by Daily Trust, it was stated that 14 people were kidnapped from Garam, a town situated along the Sabon-Wuse-Bwari road, and three more people were abducted in Zhibi, a community adjacent to Dei-Dei town, located within the Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
Commander Dantani Daniel, leading the vigilante group in Garam, reported that bandits attacked the Sabon-Unguwa area of the community at about 1 am. He stated, “They abducted individuals from various houses and swiftly departed the community in less than an hour.”
Another resident disclosed that the assailants targeted the residence of a serving policeman within the community, firing shots at him.
“He was rushed to the Kubwa General Hospital where he is responding to the treatment,” he added.
