Atiku Vows To Pursue Justice In Supreme Court After Tribunal Verdict

Former Vice President and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, has expressed his determination to take his case to the Supreme Court following the Presidential Election Petition Court’s confirmation of President Bola Tinubu’s election victory on Wednesday, September 6.
Through his legal team, led by Chris Ude SAN, Atiku asserted that he had received a judgment from the court, but not the justice he sought.
He stated, “While we have received a judgment, true justice still eludes us. Fortunately, the Constitution grants us the right to appeal. This court represents the initial stage of our legal journey. We retain the right to appeal to the Supreme Court. This struggle is not just for our client; it’s a battle for the Constitution, the rule of law, and democracy in our nation.
“We had hoped for an outcome that would promote and encourage the utilization of technology to enhance election administration, transparency, and accountability. Our goal was to restore faith in democracy among Nigerians, to inspire them to participate in the electoral process with confidence. We don’t want to see Nigerians discouraged.
“There are legal principles and issues that we believe should be explored further. We firmly believe that when we reach the Supreme Court, we will have the opportunity to review various aspects of this case. Our client has instructed us to proceed to the Supreme Court.
“Therefore, we have requested the case records and judgment, and we will swiftly seek their transmission, as time is of the essence.
The struggle endures, and as the saying goes, it’s not over until it’s over,” concluded Atiku’s lawyer.
