Anambra Lawyer Surrenders To Police For Alleged Abuse Of 11-Year-Old Maid
The suspect Adachukwu will be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court
Awka, Anambra State– Anambra base lawyer, Adachukwu Okafor, has surrendered herself to the Nigerian Police following allegations of mistreatment against her 11-year-old maid.
Afrika Eyes had earlier reported that the Minister of Women Affairs, Uju Kennedy-Ohanenye, had placed a N2m bounty on her.
In a statement released by the media aide to the State Women and Social Welfare Commissioner, Chidimma Ikeanyionwu, who confirmed the development on Friday, February 16, 2024, said the suspect surrendered herself to the Anambra Police Command in Awka.
Mrs. Okafor allegedly used knives and other sharp objects to inflict injuries on the minor, Happiness Nwafor.
Speaking on the development, Obinabo stated that the suspect Adachukwu will be arraigned before the Children, Sexual and Gender Based Violence Magistrate court in Awka next week.
The statement also confirmed that the victim is set to be discharged from the hospital.
