Ikeja, Lagos State– In an effort to alleviate the suffering of many vulnerable people due to the effects of subsidy removal, the Musasatu Anwa’rul Mumineen (AMINEEN) has distributed food items and other valuable items to vulnerable members of the public.

The items were distributed to the widows on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at Kakawa Street, Lagos Island, Lagos State.

Sheikh Dr. AbdulMumeen Adebayo Yusuf, a renowned Islamic cleric and Proprietor of AMINEEN, said that the gesture was aimed at putting smiles on people’s faces.

“The purpose of the event is not only for the distribution of palliatives but also to signify that interfaith groups can play a significant role in religious peace-building in communities and promote peace.

Speaking about the importance of the Holy Night of Laylat-ul-Qadr, also known as the Night of Power, Night of Decree, or Night of Destiny, incites rewards equivalent to a thousand months’ worth in a single night.

“If someone engages in acts of kindness on this night, they receive the blessings equivalent to having performed the good deed for a thousand months (83 years).

“The act of giving is greatly rewarded by Allah (SWT) and is encouraged, especially during the Holy month of Ramadan. Considering the immense blessings of giving during this time, one can only imagine the magnified rewards on the night of Laylatul Qadr.”

“Whether you opt to assist through volunteering your time, making financial contributions, or giving Sadaqah Jariyah in honor of a departed loved one, or fulfilling your Zakat obligations, strive to give generously on this sacred night. Even the simplest acts, like offering a glass of water or sharing a smile, hold profound significance as acts of charity in Islam.”

Sheikh Yusuf, however,  urged wealthy individuals and organizations to help the needy so that they can survive the current hardship in the country.
