Aluko Visits Scene Of Fire Outbreak At Edun Market, Extends Immediate Relief To Victims

Ilorin, Kwara State– A member of the House of Representatives, Dr. Ahmed Yinka Aluko, representing Ilorin East/ Ilorin South federal constituency on Tuesday visited the devastating site of the recent fire incident at Megida Onikahun/Edun Market in Ilorin South, Kwara State.
Aluko, who described the incident as unfortunate and heartbreaking, said he received the distressing news and promptly dispatched a delegation to the scene.
The federal lawmaker stated that he adjusted his schedule to prioritize the on-site visit, with his commitment to being responsive to the needs of his constituents.
Hon. Aluko expressed deep sorrow as he witnessed the aftermath of the inferno. He interacted with victims, offering words of comfort and encouragement, urging them to accept the incident as God’s will and to maintain their faith during these challenging times.
As an immediate relief measure, Hon. Aluko donated One Million Naira (N1,000,000) to the victims, aiming to provide some financial support to those affected by the fire.
He expressed his gratitude to Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for the quick response to the incident and described it as an exemplary display of leadership empathy that strengthens the bond between the government and the people.
Hon. Aluko emphasized the importance of community awareness regarding safety hazards, particularly during the harmattan period.
He, however, urged residents to exercise extra caution in their activities to prevent future incidents, reinforcing the need for a collective effoto ensureing the safety and well-being of the community.
