Afrika Eyes an online Newspaper is set to unveil an ” Afrika-Eyes campus journalism program’ in Ilorin, Kwara State.

In a statement signed by the Afrika Eyes Publisher, Buhari Olanrewaju Ahmed, disclosed this to the newsmen on Wednesdays, in Ilorin, the State Capital.

Mr Ahmed said the program is designed for the students of tertiary institutions on a subject relating to campus life and news.

“As the number of journalism students increases, the majority of them often graduate without having a practical knowledge of the profession, therefore they struggle to fit into the real world of journalism upon graduation.

He said the program will serve as a reliable training ground where future journalists can sharpen their journalistic skills.

According to him, Afrika Eyes would collaborate with all the tertiary institutions in Kwara as a first step to allow the student to leverage their journalistic skill and be the voice of change.

Mr Ahmed said the program is scheduled to take place at the secretariat of the Nigeria Union of Journalists in Ilorin, on Thursday 19, 2023 by 10 am.

He added that Afrika Eyes will also award a high-ranking official whose tremendous work and dedication have produced commendable results.

“In recognition of their outstanding efforts toward a positive contribution to the community development, we have, as a result, developed the Afrika Eyes Award to reward their efforts and loyalty to communities with the primary focus of the program being long service,” he added.
