New Kwara CP Meet Alagbado Community Leaders To Rebuild Confidence Against Insecurity
The CP assured the residents not to panic or plan to relocate from the community,
The new Commissioner of Police in Kwara, Paul Odama has taken a proactive step of assessment to Alabgado and Gaa Osibi Community of Ilorin West Local Government Area of Kwara State.
The subject matter was how to prevent insecurity with other social vices in the communities.
In a statement by the Kwara State Police Command, SP Okasanmi Ajayi, said the meeting with the stakeholders in both communities is to rebuild the confidence of the residents.
Meanwhile, the CP has deployed three patrol teams comprising conventional and men of the tactical teams of the command, to reduce the fear and apprehensions in the minds of the residents.
A Youth leader of the community who simply gave his name as Olori Odo, and a head representative from the Osibi community Afaa Ola Shehu, both thanked the commissioner of police for the surprise visit to the community.
According to him, ” since the arrival of the police teams, the people of the community have been sleeping with their two eyes closed.
He stated that members of the communities were ready to support the policemen with the necessary materials that could enhance their duty in the community.
However, the representatives of the community joined the CP convoy to patrol the Area while showing the CP the area they fear the criminals used in accessing the community.
Mr Odama assured the residents of the community of the police’s determination to end criminal activities in the area in particular and Kwara State in general.
He advised the leadership of the communities to work with the police deployed to the area, to give them information at all times and report to him any conduct by the policemen that is at variance with their rules of engagement in the community.
He promised to always pay unscheduled visits like this to see the progress and how the community is fearing.
The CP assured the residents not to panic or plan to relocate from the community, stating that, the place is now safe and peaceful for people to live and do their business without any fear of attack and intimidation.
