Nigeria Mourns: Renowned Islamic Scholar Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi Dies At 98

Bauchi State– Nigeria has lost one of its most revered Islamic scholars and spiritual leaders, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi, who passed away on Thursday, November 27, 2025, at the age of 98.
Sheikh Dahiru, born on June 29, 1927, was celebrated across Africa as one of the most influential voices of the Tijjaniyya Dariqa and a leading figure in Qur’anic scholarship.
His death has triggered an outpouring of grief from followers, clerics, and admirers across the country.
The news of his passing was confirmed by a close associate, Daha Azhary Bauchi, who wrote:“Indeed, we belong to Allah, and to Him we shall return.”

For decades, Sheikh Dahiru dedicated his life to the propagation of Islam, Qur’anic teachings, and spiritual mentorship.

A towering religious authority, he was deeply respected for his humility, discipline, and unwavering commitment to Islamic education.
