Ilorin, Kwara State– As Muslims around the world usher in the Islamic new year, 1447 AH, the Sarkin Gobir and Madawaki of Ilorin Emirate, Alhaji Yakubu Garba Gobir, has extended heartfelt felicitations to the Muslim Ummah.
In a goodwill message commemorating 1 Muharram 1447 AH, Alhaji Gobir expressed deep gratitude to Almighty Allah for the gift of life and the opportunity to witness another Hijrah year.
He called on Muslims to approach the new year with renewed faith, spiritual reflection, and unwavering commitment to Islamic principles.
Highlighting the historical and spiritual significance of the Hijrah—the Prophet Muhammad’s (SAW) migration from Makkah to Madinah—the Sarkin Gobir described it as a timeless lesson in sacrifice, resilience, and the pursuit of justice and righteousness.
