Police Confirm Gunmen Killed Three In Midnight Attacks On Kwara Community

Ilorin, Kwara State– The Kwara State Police Command has confirmed two deadly attacks in Patigi Local Government Area of the state, resulting in the deaths of three individuals in the early hours of Tuesday, June 25, 2025.
According to a statement issued by the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the incidents occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m. when unidentified armed men launched coordinated attacks on Mari and Lile villages via Lade district.
In Mari village, one Timothy Paul, a 35-year-old male, was reportedly shot dead by the attackers. Simultaneously, in Lile village, the gunmen killed a 51-year-old man, Alhaji Abdullahi Shehu, and his 22-year-old son, Abdullahi Muhammad.
Ejire-Adeyemi stated that the bodies of the victims were taken to a hospital, where a medical doctor confirmed them dead.
She added that investigations have begun to apprehend the actors behind this dastardly act; prosecution follows afterwards.
