Police Arrest 3 Suspected Fraudsters, Recover 36 ATM Cards
The suspects were arrested after police received a report from a resident that some unknown persons deceitfully swapped her ATM card at a bank
Police Intelligence Operatives, attached to the Kano State Police Command, have arrested three suspected Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card-swapping fraudsters and recovered 36 cards from different banks.
This was contained in a press statement signed by the spokesman of the command, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, and issued on Thursday, said the suspects were arrested after police received a report from a resident that some unknown persons deceitfully swapped her ATM card at a bank.
The statement read: “On 30/06/2023 at about 1530hrs, report was received from a resident of Kofar Ruwa Quarters, Kano that some unknown person (s) deceitfully swapped her ATM card at Wema Bank Murtala Muhammed Way, Kano and zoomed away.
“On receipt of the report, team of detectives swung into action where three of the suspects; (1) Mu’azzam Sabo, ‘m’, 25 years old of Yakasai Quarters, Kano (2) Auwal Nasiru, ‘m’, 27 years old of Tudun Maliki Quarters, Kano (3) Auwal Sueiman, ‘m’, 25 years old of Medile Hamdala Quarters, Kano were arrested. thirty-six (36) ATM cards of different banks were also recovered from them.
He, however, said the case is under investigation.
