Abuja, Nigeria –The kidnappers of Sarkin Fili, Chief Peter David, in the Mpape community, Bwari Area Council of the FCT have reportedly subjected him to severe beatings after his family failed to fulfil the ransom demands.

Chief David, along with his wife, three children, and four other residents, fell victim to a kidnapping incident that left two people dead.

The abductors had initially demanded a ransom for the release of the captives. However, tensions escalated when it was discovered that the amount paid by the family was deemed incomplete.

It was gathered that the perpetrators, dissatisfied with the partial payment, resorted to beating the Sarkin Fili into a state of unconsciousness.

In an interview with Daily Trust on Tuesday, December 5, Aisha Peter, the wife of the chief, revealed that her husband had been released two days later after she failed to raise a ransom of N100m. She mentioned that her husband was severely beaten by his abductors because she could only gather and raise N8m.

“I called them over the phone this morning to inform them that I only managed to raise N8m, and when I demanded to talk to him, it was our 14-year-old daughter who was able to speak and she told me that my husband could not speak as a result of the beating,” she explained.

Meanwhile, none of the four other residents kidnapped has been freed by the kidnappers who have place a ransom of N50m on each.
