Abuja, Nigeria – The Senator representing Kwara Central Senatorial District, North Central Nigeria in the National Assembly, Saliu Mustapha on Wednesday addressed the ongoing controversy surrounding a constituency project he facilitated through the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

Mustapha, Chairman of the Senate Committee on Agriculture Production Services and Rural Development, and Deputy Chairman of Petroleum Resources (Upstream), at the red chamber.

This is contained in a statement personally signed by Senator Mustapha on Tuesday,  November 21, 2023, denied having any disputes with the Kwara State governor, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq.

“I have followed some conversations on the constituency project that I facilitated from the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development.

“I wish to state that the information gap and whatever missteps on the said project are being addressed with the Kwara State Ministry of Works and Transport. As a leader, I take responsibility for the misunderstanding.

According to him, “I totally reject the insinuations that Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, CON, stopped the constituency project or that any bad blood exists between myself and the Governor who is my elder brother and the esteemed leader of our party.

He added that the Governor has done so very well within the circumstances of the state, and he is committed to supporting him to further develop the state, especially the Kwara Central Senatorial District that he represent in the Senate.

“I urge leaders, members and supporters of our party to take immediate note of this, and not fall for the mischief of the merchants of crisis wanting to get themselves busy with some imaginary schisms. Kwara APC is one large indivisible family and the family is led by no other person than the Governor,” the statement read.
