Kwara Central Receives First Major Project After Tinubu Govt’s Supplementary Budget
Our people have suffered for too long and they are excited that the reconstruction process is finally happening
Ilorin, Kwara State– President Bola Tinubu’s recently approved 2.7 trillion supplementary budget includes a road construction project for Kwara Central particularly in the Ilorin West local government.
The approval for the construction of the asphaltic road follows persistent requests made by residents and community development associations from Kuntu, Isale-Jagun, Kangu, Gaa-Aremu, and other areas of Ilorin West to Senator Saliu Mustapha, who represents the Kwara Central Senatorial District.
It would be recalled that Mustapha chairs the Senate Committee on Agriculture.
During an inspection visit to the project site, Alhaji Tunde Abdulkadir, a legislative aide to Senator Mustapha in the state, spoke with Afrika Eyes correspondent. He said that his purpose was to facilitate a connection between the project contractor and representatives from the Gaa-Aremu communities, ensuring effective collaboration.
Speaking to Afrika Eyes correspondent, one of Senator Mustapha’s legislative aides in the state, Alhaji Tunde Abdulkadir, who was on an inspection visit to the project site in the company of representatives from the Gaa-Aremu communities, noted that his visit was to connect the contractor handling the project with the community representatives for adequate synergy.
He said it was also to reiterate the fact that the Senator’s monitoring team would not settle for less in terms of the standard and quality of the project.
He further explained that projects such as this will complement the giant strides of the KWSG on road infrastructure.
“All hands must be on deck to support the KWSG on the improvement of roads and necessary infrastructure in the state.
As we all know, the state is doing a lot already and we can’t leave everything to the government.”
Reacting to the development, the President of the Isale-Jagun Community Development Association, Salman Yusuf Adebayo, described the project as a dream come true for the area.
“Our people have suffered for too long and they are excited that the reconstruction process is finally happening. If you have plied the road before, you will understand how important this project is to our people. If completed, the road would ease life and improve businesses in the area.”
He expressed the community’s appreciation to the President, the Governor of Kwara State, Gov. AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq and Senator Saliu Mustapha for the intervention, promising that the communities will follow through on the project from execution to completion stage.
