Yenagoa, Bayelsa State– A man identified as George Sibo, has been killed by suspected political thugs in Twon-Brass, in the Brass Local Government Area of Bayelsa State.

It was gathered that Sibo, a supporter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), was attacked at the governorship election collation centre in the council area headquarters while the results from several wards in Constituency 2 were being submitted on Sunday, November 12.

The deceased, known as “Kobo-Kobo,” was reported to be a native of Twon-Brass and had been serving as an aide to a politician within the local government.

Daniel Charles, the representative of Brass Constituency 1 in the state House of Assembly, strongly condemned the killing.

He pressed for the immediate intervention of security authorities to apprehend and prosecute those responsible for the crime.

In response to the incident, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, Asinim Butswat, stated that he was awaiting information from the area commander situated in the Brass Local Government Area.
