JapanAlan Fisher, an Irish native and the owner and chef of a restaurant in Japan, has etched his name into the annals of the Guinness World Records by setting not one but two cooking-related records.

First, Alan Fisher claimed the title for the longest cooking marathon (individual), an arduous challenge that required him to remain in the kitchen, preparing food for a staggering 119 hours and 57 minutes.

According to Guinness World Records, the incredible accomplishment surpassed the previous record held by Nigerian chef Hilda Baci by more than 24 hours.

Fisher didn’t stop there. He went on to break another record, securing the title for the longest baking marathon (individual) by dedicating a remarkable 47 hours and 21 minutes to the baking process.

The feat eclipsed the previous record held by Wendy Sandner from the United States, whose baking marathon lasted 31 hours and 16 minutes.

“What sets Alan Fisher’s achievements apart is not only the sheer endurance he displayed in the kitchen but also the fact that he tackled both of these challenging records back to back. This means that he was hard at work in the kitchen for a total of over 160 hours, with just a little over a day of rest in between these incredible culinary marathons.”

Alan learned about the longest cooking marathon record in March while he was participating in the “I Love Ireland” festival in Tokyo. During this festival, Alan stood inside a rented kitchen car and stayed overnight twice.
