Supreme Court Resolves Forfeiture Of $460,000 Issue In Favor Of Tinubu Against Atiku
In the case, since the matter of forfeiture was not part of the original petition
Abuja, Nigeria– The Supreme Court of Nigeria has effectively resolved the issue of the forfeiture of $460,000 in favour of Bola Tinubu against Atiku Abubakar and the People’s Democratic Party (PDP).
The court determined that the issue was introduced through Atiku and PDP’s Reply, not within their original petition.
The ruling stated the significance of adhering to procedural rules and the scope of issues raised in legal petitions.
“The decision emphasizes that issues brought up in replies must align with the claims made in the original petition. In the case, since the matter of forfeiture was not part of the original petition, it could not be considered by the court.”
