Police Arrest Three Islamic Clerics For Allegedly Beheading Man In Ibadan

Ibadan, Oyo State– Three Islamic clerics have been arrested and are currently detained at the Oyo State Criminal Investigation Department for their alleged beheading of a middle-aged man in Ibadan, the state capital.

It has been reported that the victim, who was enticed to a bush in Moniya, Akinyele Local Government Area of the state, was working for one of the suspected killers.

He was led to the location under the pretence of a job opportunity, only to have his head beheaded.

The suspects were subsequently arrested at Apete in the Ido Local Government Area of the state, leaving many residents in shock.

A resident, who chose to remain anonymous, expressed her sorrow, saying, “It was so heart-wrenching. One of the alleged murderers was a well-known cleric recognized for his distinctive turban within the Islamic community of Alapata.”

A credible police source confirmed the incident and disclosed that the suspected perpetrators were landlords within his jurisdiction, even though the gruesome act occurred in Moniya.

He further stated, “The case has been transferred to the Criminal Investigation Department in Iyaganku for further investigation.”
