School Teacher, Five Others Paraded For Electrical Fittings Tampering In Osun

Osogbo, Osun State–  The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) Osun State Command paraded a private school teacher, Patrick John, and five other suspects for allegedly tampering with electrical fittings at various locations in Osogbo, the state capital.

The other suspects were identified as Jaye Abayomi, Abidemi Enoch, Jackson Imukodro, Adeleke Fatimah, and Azeez Mutiu.

The arrests were made during a joint operation conducted by the NSCDC in collaboration with the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) on October 13, 2023.

Parading the suspects at the command headquarters in Osogbo, the State Commandant, Sunday Agboola, said that the suspects were arrested during a joint operation of NSCDC and the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) on October 13, 2023.

Mr Agboola said despite a series of arrests made to deter the public from tampering with electrical fittings, people of the state still engage in the act.

He said, “The command is dismayed. Despite several arrests made to deter the public from embarking on this illegal act, some have bluntly refused to desist from this act.

“NSDC will not rest on its oars until we see positive change in our state.”

The Commandant noted that the suspects will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

He called on residents of the state to desist from acts capable of causing economic loss to the society at large.

Speaking with newsmen, John said he bypassed his meter because the person in charge of loading it was not available.

He said, “Our terminal has spoiled and we have an agent who usually loads our matter directly for us but the person wasn’t available on Friday to load it for us, that was why I decided to bypass it.”
