Kwara State Governor Inaugurates Four New Special Advisers

The Governor further explained the importance of their actions in shaping the state’s future

Ilorin, Kwara State-  The Kwara State Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has inaugurated four new Special Advisers, in strengthening the government’s commitment to deliver on its mandate to the people of the state.

This announcement was made on Friday, October 13, 2023, in a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Rafiu Ajakaye.

Governor AbdulRazaq had previously obtained parliamentary approval to appoint 10 Special Advisers, and on Friday, he officially inaugurated four of them.

The newly inaugurated Special Advisers include retired Brigadier General Saliu Tunde Bello, who returns to his role as Special Adviser on Security Matters. He previously held this position before the last dispensation ended on May 29.

Also returning is Alhaji Bashir Adigun, who now serves as Special Adviser on Media. In the previous dispensation, Adigun held the role of SA Political Communication.

The other two appointees are Attahiru Umar Mohammed, Special Adviser on Youth Engagement, and Atiku Bahinda Abdulsalam, who assumes the position of Special Adviser on Strategy.

In addition to these appointments, Governor AbdulRazaq has named Barrister Murtala Sambo as Special Adviser on Legal Matters.

During the inauguration ceremony held at the state’s council chamber, the Governor commended the appointees for their loyalty and dedication to the public good. He emphasized the importance of their roles in delivering progress to Kwara State.

The Governor stated, “My hearty congratulations to all the new appointees. It is not a coincidence that you are all returning to the cabinet. It is a testament to your commitment to a great Kwara and the well-being of its people.”

Governor AbdulRazaq acknowledged that while no government is perfect, his administration is committed to upholding its mandate and responsibilities to the people of the state.

He emphasized their focus on investments in education, water and sanitation, rural-urban development, and projects aimed at promoting sustainable economic growth and improving the well-being of the people.

He added, “I congratulate all the appointees once again. I call on you, and everyone else, to relate well with the people of the state, your constituents, and party loyalists with whom we worked to get here.”

The Governor further explained the importance of their actions in shaping the state’s future, especially during a time of significant national development.

The Permanent Secretary (General Services, Office of the Secretary to the State Government), Babatunde AbdulRahman, urged the new appointees to bring their rich experiences to bear in their new roles and maintain high standards of integrity.

Alhaji Bashir Adigun, the Special Adviser on Media, speaking on behalf of the appointees, reaffirmed their commitment to the administration’s agenda to improve the lives of the people and restore the glory of yesteryears.

He praised the Governor for simplifying governance and expressed their dedication to the tasks ahead.
