Tinubu Appoints KWASU Student To Presidential Tax Reforms Committee
In her capacity as a research assistant and analyst, she will collaborate with the committee for a period of three months
Abuja, Nigeria– A 400-level student, Olamide Obagbemileke, majoring in Economics at Kwara State University (KWASU), has been appointed as a research assistant and analyst to the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms.
The appointment, a significant recognition of her talents and potential, was announced by the university on Thursday evening, October 12.
According to a tweet by the university, Miss Obagbemileke was formally notified of her selection through a letter signed by the Policy and Research Analyst and Executive Assistant to the Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, Bomate Ogaree-Lawson.
In her capacity as a research assistant and analyst, she will collaborate with the committee for a period of three months and will also serve as the committee’s student ambassador.
The Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms was inaugurated by President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday, August 8, at the presidential villa in Abuja.
The committee is chaired by Taiwo Oyedele, and Orire Agbaje, another 400-level economics student from the University of Ibadan, is also a member of the committee.
The primary mandate of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms is to comprehensively review Nigeria’s fiscal and tax policies, with the goal of making recommendations for much-needed reforms.
The committee’s work is expected to culminate in the submission of its report to the President within a six-month timeframe.
