Lagos Police Arrest Fraudsters At Iyana Church Bus Stop
Their illegal activities were cut short when sharp-eyed witnesses recognized their deceit and raised the alarm.
Ikeja, Lagos State– The Lagos State Police Command have arrested three suspected fraudsters at Iyana Church Bus Stop, Lagos, following a tip-off from vigilant citizens on October 9, 2023.
The suspects, identified as Orji Chinedu (38 years old), Uche Godwin (37 years old), and Ifeoma Nathaniel (51 years old), were operating a fraudulent scheme in which they targeted passengers at Iyana Church Bus Stop using a Toyota Camry with the registration number LSD 497 AA.
Their illegal activities were cut short when sharp-eyed witnesses recognized their deceit and raised the alarm.
In response to the information received, officers from Sabo Division promptly rushed to the scene, arrested the suspects, and confiscated their operational vehicle.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that the fraudsters would pick up unsuspecting passengers and then intentionally initiate an argument about the presence of dollars in the car’s trunk. This ruse would prompt unwitting victims to mediate in the dispute, ultimately falling prey to the scammers’ fraudulent tactics.
SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, confirmed the arrest and declared that the suspects would be arraigned at the conclusion of the ongoing investigation.
