Ikeja, Lagos – Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested three fraudsters in Idumota, Lagos, who were attempting to defraud a 23-year-old woman.

The victim, whose identity is being withheld, was rescued from her captors while on a journey to Iyana Oworo from Gerard Road Ikoyi.

The suspects, identified as Austin Okoro, aged 47, the alleged ringleader, Godwin Asezour, aged 54, and Susan Elohor, aged 42, reportedly lured the victim into their Volkswagen Vento salon car with registration number BDG 513 EJ.

However, instead of her intended destination, she was forcefully taken to Idumota.

During the ordeal, the fraudsters attempted to swindle the young lady by introducing her to what they claimed was a lucrative money-doubling business. Fortunately, luck was on her side as she spotted an RRS patrol team in Idumota and immediately raised the alarm, leading to the quick arrest of the suspects.

Following a thorough investigation conducted by CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi-led RRS, the three suspects have been charged to court, where they will face the full extent of the law for their alleged crimes.
