Police Arrest Man For Allegedly Defiling Seven-Year-Old Daughter In Edo

The suspect made a statement and confessed to the crime while the girl has been taken to Vivian Medical Center for a medical examination

Benin, Edo State– Operatives of the Nigeria Police have arrested Felix Iloghevbo for allegedly defiling his seven-year-old daughter in Edo State.

The spokesperson for the State Police Command, Chidi Nwabuzor, revealed that on September 19th, in Idokpa Community within Uhunmwode Local Government of the state, a suspect committed a heinous crime. Acting on reliable information, officers from the Egba Division Police Station apprehended the suspect, who resides in Idokpa Community, for sexually assaulting his own daughter.

Nwabuzor went on to explain that the suspect provided a confession, and the victim was subsequently taken to Vivian Medical Center for a thorough medical examination.

“The men of the Egba division arrested Iloghevbo after they got credible information about the crime which occurred on September 19, in Idokpa Community, in Uhunmwode Local Government of the state.

“The suspect made a statement and confessed to the crime while the girl has been taken to Vivian Medical Center for a medical examination,” he added.

In addition to the case, the PPRO reported that the police also arrested a man named Godwin Osaghale, who was accused of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old girl in the state.

According to Nwabuzor, the suspect was apprehended in Uromi, Edo Central, following a complaint lodged by the victim’s father. It was alleged that the suspect entered the father’s residence in his absence, encountered his unwell daughter sitting in a chair, and forcibly assaulted her sexually.

The victim was promptly taken to the hospital for a medical examination, while the suspect was placed under arrest.

Nwabuzor assured the public that investigations are ongoing, and both suspects will soon face charges in court.
