Suspected Herders Attack Benue Community, Kill 1, 4 Injured

Benue State, Nigeria – At least one person has been killed while four others sustained injuries after gunmen suspected to be herders attacked commuters along Naka-Agagbe Road in Gwer West Local Government Area of Benue State.

The victims, predominantly internally displaced persons (IDPs), were en route from Naka, the administrative center of Gwer West LGA, to the rural Agagbe village when the attack took place.

Locals recount that the attack occurred in close proximity to Tse-Awunah, causing shockwaves throughout the community.

Ibaah Terna Jacob, Chairman of the Agagbe IDP Camp, confirmed the harrowing incident. He identified the deceased as Atakpa Ezekiel and provided the names of the four wounded individuals as Agagbe Saaondo, Iorgbuusu Bem, Ugwu Arinze Chukwu, and Awuhe Jacob.

Community leaders in the area express their concerns over the safety of the people while they are calling for swift action to bring the perpetrators to justice and prevent any further bloodshed.
