Bandits Kill 3, Kidnap Eight In Sokoto

Sokoto State, Nigeria – The Sokoto State Police Command has confirmed a deadly attack perpetrated by suspected bandits in the Soro community, in the Binji Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killed three persons and kidnapped eight others.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, ASP Ahmad Rufai, in a statement, said a group of gunmen believed to be bandits launched an attack on the Soro community but men of the command with the support of military operatives successfully repelled the attack.
The police spokesperson further explained that, in a fit of frustration, the bandits resorted to setting several houses ablaze during their retreat.
He said the act of arson claimed the lives of three residents of the community, and several others sustained varying degrees of injuries as a result.
The Sokoto State Police Command has vowed to intensify efforts to bring the perpetrators to justice and restore security to the affected area.
He said that investigations into the attack are ongoing, and residents are urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety and security of the community.
