Horror Unleashed: Two Children, Six Others Killed In Recent Plateau Attack
The attackers after killing those outside the building proceeded into the building where his children were under medication and two others were shot.
Jos, Plateau State- Gunmen suspected to be Fulani militias stormed Adu village in the Kwall District of Bassa Local Government Area and killed at least eight people including two innocent minors.
It was gathered that the attack occurred at about 9 pm on Sunday, October 1, 2023, catching the peaceful community off guard as most residents had already retired to their homes.
Davidson Malison, the National Publicity Secretary of the Irigwe Development Association (IDA), confirmed the brutal attack in a statement issued on Monday, described the incident as a distressing continuation of the cycle of violence that has been plaguing the state, resulting in the loss of lives and property.
“The gunmen stormed the community at about 2010hrs, positioned and sprayed bullets on the bodies of innocent people while sleeping,” he said.
“The evil perpetration continued within minutes and about eight people were killed while 5 people were injured. They are receiving treatment in hospitals
The Rigwe Nation is not only saddened by this unfortunate development and occurrence, but completely depressed knowing full well how peaceful and hospitable the Rigwe people had lived and still living,” he said.
Narrating his experience on the sad incident, Danjuma Avu, who lost two of his children and six relatives in the attack said the gunmen shot at the people who were at the mini market square.
According to Avu, the attackers after killing those outside the building proceeded into the building where his children were under medication and two others were shot.
The deceased comprising five males, one female and two minors have been buried at the village cemetery while the injured are receiving treatment at the hospital.
