2023 Election: Gobir Promises To End Insecurity In Kwara, If Elected As Governor

He also promised to involve the traditional council in the security affairs of the state.

The Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in Kwara, Waziri Yakubu Gobir has promised to end all forms of insecurity in Ekiti local government, and in the state.

The Governorship candidate disclosed this on Thursday when he visited Ekiti local government  ahead of the 2023 general elections.

Gobir who met with the Ekiti Traditional Council under the leadership of Olosi of Osi l, HRH Oba Abdulkareem Saliu Adasofegbe Arowobeku I, at the council secretariat in Osi.

While addressing the monarchs and thousands of supporters, he stated that his administration will put an end to the uptick in criminal activities Ekiti has witnessed in the last four years and nip insecurity in the bud across the state.

According to him; “It is very pathetic to see the rate at which security challenges keep increasing in this part of the State. I am giving the assurance that if I have your support and am elected at the 2023 polls, I will put an end to the incessant banditry and kidnapping in Ekiti’s local government. The security vote is meant for security challenges and other related issues that might arise and I can assure you that I will judiciously utilize the state resources to put an end to the security challenges in Ekiti local government and the State at large.”

He also promised to involve the traditional council in the security affairs of the state. Aláànú Mẹ̀kúnnù, as he’s fondly called, promised to revive the local government administration to correct the error of the current government on the management of State councils.

The Olosi, in his response, prayed to God to grant Gobir his heart desires. “All your desire is from God and He will give it to you. It has been a long I have been hearing about you as Aláànú Mẹ̀kúnnù, I am impressed that you choose Mercy on Kwarans and I implore you to extend mercy to the Traditional council, Chiefs and the Masses.” He added.

Gobir also met with the Council of Imams and Hulamaah led by Sheikh Alhaji Sadudeen Ajisefini and the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), led by Special Apostle Emmanuel Kolawole Adelusi to seek blessing and support ahead of the 2023 elections.
