19-Year-Old Boy Arrested For Kidnapping, Murder Of Neighbor’s 11-Year-Old Son In Yobe
The suspect later buried the corpse in their house while his parents were away and was later apprehended
Damaturu, Yobe State– Operatives of the Yobe State Police Command have arrested 19-year-old Mohammed Abdullahi, who kidnapped and killed his neighbour’s 11-year son in the Gujba local government area of the state.
The suspect teenager was among the suspects paraded at command headquarters in Damaturu on Thursday, May 2, 2024.
The state police commissioner, CP Ahmed Garba, while parading the suspects, said 31 armed robberies, 12 kidnappings, 55 homicides, as well as 115 theft offences were recorded in the first quota of 2024.
According to the CP, Abdullahi kidnapped the minor and demanded N600,000 ransom from the victim’s family before killing him with hard drugs and burying the corpse.
“Mohammed Abdullahi, a 19-year-old suspect from Buniyadi, abducted an 11-year-old son of his neighbour and later demanded a ransom of 600,000 naira,” the CP stated.
“When the parents of the victim could not meet his demand, he bought drugs and administered them to the victim to sleep and the victim later died.
“The suspect later buried the corpse in their house while his parents were away and was later apprehended by the police.”
