Wanted Bandits Leader Ado Allero Kills Zamfara Traditional Ruler, Abducts 40 After Peace Deal
It was gathered that at about 4:09 p.m. on September 15, Allero’s gang killed the Hakimi of Dogon Dawa in Keta village, Tsafe LGA.
Gusau, Zamfara State– Armed bandits led by Ado Allero, a notorious kingpin recently involved in the ongoing peace dialogue in the North West, hav slaughtered a traditional ruler in Tsafe Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
It was gathered that at about 4:09 p.m. on September 15, Allero’s gang killed the Hakimi of Dogon Dawa in Keta village, Tsafe LGA.
The assailants also abducted 40 civilians from a mosque in the same area.
The attack, described as brutal and unprovoked, has heightened fears among residents already grappling with persistent insecurity.
Security analyst Zagazola Makama confirmed the incident on his X handle on Tuesday, adding that the same group has intensified its campaign of terror across the region.
According to him, four farmers were also killed in Barikin Daji, Ruwan Gizo, Zamfara State, while two Customs officers were ambushed and killed in Fingilla village, Dandi Local Government Area of Kebbi State.
Zagazola reported that armed bandits have continued their reign of terror across the North West, unleashing killings, kidnappings, and attacks on civilians despite the much-publicized peace dialogue in Faskari, Katsina State, aimed at ending banditry in the region.
While the peace meeting was ongoing, bandits reportedly ambushed the convoy of the Commanding Officer of the 382 Army Regiment at Ruwan Godiya crossing point along the Sheme–Kankara Road in Katsina. Troops repelled the attack successfully.
That same day, soldiers from the 17 Brigade ambushed bandits near Gatawa village in Kankara Local Government Area, seizing a motorcycle and a mobile phone.
Troops also repelled another attack at Sabon Massallaci village in Katera ward, Kankara LGA, but the bandits later struck at Gidan Dufe in the same area, killing a woman, injuring several others, and rustling livestock.
In another incident the same day, bandits ambushed personnel of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) at Dafa village along the Yantumaki–Danmusa road, killing one officer and wounding four others.
Elsewhere, 12 people were abducted in Godai village, Bukuyum Local Government Area of Zamfara State, while four others were kidnapped in Tudun Moriki. In Kebbi State, a gang known as the Lakurawa group killed two Customs officers in Fingilla village, Dandi LGA.
Meanwhile, four civilians were reportedly gunned down while harvesting crops in Barikin Daji, near Ruwan Gizo in Zamfara State.
However Allero, the notorious bandit kingpin, had only days earlier expressed optimism that the peace dialogue in Faskari would restore calm to Katsina, Zamfara, and neighboring states.
He blamed previous disruptions of peace initiatives, including the arrest of his son, for his decision to return to violent activities.
Despite claims of a “historic” and inclusive dialogue, the wave of attacks has persisted across the region.
