Vigilantes Kill Alleged Mastermind Of RCCG Pastor’s Wife Abduction In Kwara

A group of local vigilantes has reportedly killed a suspected leader of kidnappers in the town of Elerinjare, in the Ifelodun Local Government Area of the state.

It was gathered that during the operation conducted on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, five suspected members of his gang, all of Fulani descent, were arrested at their hideout.

The alleged leader of the gang was reportedly responsible for orchestrating the kidnapping of Mrs Bola Ajiboye, the spouse of RCCG pastor Johnson Ajiboye, about two weeks prior in Elerinjare town.

It would be recalled that Mrs Ajiboye was freed subsequent to the payment of a N1 million ransom and the provision of foodstuff to the abductors.

Suspect

Pastor Oladipo, who had gone to deliver the ransom, was also apprehended by the kidnappers.

The abductors further insisted on a N5 million ransom for the release of Pastor Oladipo.

However, on Tuesday, a vigilant group launched an operation on the hideout of the suspected kidnappers, they eliminated the alleged kingpin and arrested at least five other suspects.

According to reports, both Pastor Johnson and Pastor Oladipo spearheaded the vigilante team that located the suspected kidnappers’ hideout, the encounter resulted in an exchange of gunfire and subsequently led to the arrest of the suspects.

Commenting on the situation, Ajayi Okasanmi, the command’s spokesperson, confirmed the arrest. However, he said that they are currently awaiting a comprehensive report to determine whether the arrested suspects are the masterminds behind the Elerinjare kidnapping incident.
