UNIZIK Expels Female Student For Assaulting, Biting Lecturer Over TikTok Video

Awka,  Anambra State– The management of Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) has expelled a female student, Goddy-Mbakwe Chimamaka Precious, for physically assaulting and biting a lecturer in the Department of Theatre and Film Studies.

The decision was communicated in an official expulsion letter dated February 13, 2025, and signed by the Acting Registrar, Mr. Victor I. Modebelu.

According to the university, the expulsion followed a recommendation from the Student Disciplinary Committee, which found Precious guilty of violating the institution’s disciplinary regulations, specifically Regulation 4 (SDR).

The incident, which was captured in a viral TikTok video, showed Precious attacking Dr. Chukwudi Okoye, prompting outrage and calls for disciplinary action.

In response, the acting Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Joseph I. Ikechebelu, ordered a thorough and unbiased investigation, leading to the student’s expulsion.

The university reiterated its commitment to maintaining discipline and upholding academic integrity, warning that such misconduct would not be tolerated.
