Two Teenage Cultists Arrested In Lagos While On Mission To Avenge Member’s Death

The suspects were found with a black bag. When the bag was searched, two axes and two bottles were recovered from them.

Ikeja, Lagos State- Two suspected teenage members of a notorious cult gang were arrested by the Lagos State Police in the early hours of the morning while allegedly on a mission to avenge the death of a fellow gang member.

It was gathered that the arrest occurred in the Agege area of Lagos.

The suspects, identified as 18-year-olds Alimi Abdurasak and Eniola Shamsideen, were apprehended at around 1:50 am by officers from the Elere Police Station.

Meanwhile, it was reported that the suspects were attempting to flee after spotting the police’s anti-crime patrol team stationed along Agbotikuyo Street, a known hotspot for gang activity.

Confirming the arrest, the spokesperson of the Lagos State Police Command, Benjamin Hundeyin, said that suspicions were raised about the teenagers’ presence at such an odd hour, leading to their being cornered and arrested before they could escape.

Hundeyin said the suspects are both from the Oniwaya area of Agege.

He said at the time of the arrest, the suspects were found with a black bag. When the bag was searched, two axes and two bottles were recovered from them.

Hundeyin added that investigation is ongoing and the suspects would soon be charged to court.
