Two Arrested For Goat Theft In Jigawa
The suspects made a confessional statement admitting to the offence.
Operatives of Jigawa State Police Command have arrested two suspects in connection with the alleged theft of two goats valued at N50,000, in the Kazaure Local Government Area of the state.
According to DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the spokesperson of the command, said the arrests were made following a report lodged by one Fatima Aminu, who claimed that her goats had been stolen.
The suspects, identified as Ibrahim Alhassan and Bashir Babangida, are currently in police custody.
“On 18/9/2023, one Fatima Aminu ‘f’ 42yrs of Kanti Gaba’s quarters Kazaure LGA, reported that on 17/9/23 at about 1100hrs she discovered that unknown thieves stole her two goats valued at fifty thousand naira (N50,000.00k),” the statement read.
“On receipt of the report, detectives attached to Kazaure Police station acted on credible information and arrested one Ibrahim Alhassan ‘m’ 20yrs and Bashir Babangida ‘m’ 19yrs all of Ganguli quarters Kazaure LGA, who conspired, stole the said goats, and transported them to Danbatta Market, Danbatta LGA, Kano state to dispose them,”
On interrogation, the suspects made a confessional statement admitting to the offence.
The suspects arrested will be arraigned before the court to face the full wrath of the law.
