Washington, United States– U.S. President Donald Trump has claimed that the United States has captured Venezuela’s President, Nicolas Maduro, along with his wife, following what he described as a “large-scale” U.S. military operation against the South American country.

Trump made the statement on his Truth Social account, saying Maduro and his wife had been taken into U.S. custody and flown out of Venezuela.

“The United States of America has successfully carried out a large scale strike against Venezuela and its leader, President Nicolas Maduro, who has been, along with his wife, captured and flown out of the Country,” Trump wrote.

“This operation was done in conjunction with U.S. Law Enforcement. Details to follow.”

Trump added that a news conference would be held later in the day at 11 a.m. at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, promising further information on the alleged operation.
