Truck Driver In Custody After Crushing Abia State Polytechnic Graduate
Before she could rise, a speeding truck crushed her to death.
Umuahia, Abia State– The Operatives of Abia State Police Command have arrested a truck driver who crushed to death a recent graduate of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba.
It would be recalled that Mary Ogechi Ezekiel, who graduated with a distinction from the Department of Accounting, had gone to school on Tuesday, March 5, for clearance in preparation for NYSC.
It was gathered that as she left the school gate, she was struck by a tricycle. Before she could rise, a speeding truck crushed her to death.
Following the accident, students from the school organized a protest, blocking the expressway in the meantime.
However, the police intervened to pacify the enraged students before apprehending the driver.
An investigation is underway.
