Jos, Plateau State– Security operatives attached to Sector 6 of Operation Enduring Peace, in collaboration with a Department of State Services (DSS) tactical team, have arrested three suspects during a coordinated manhunt linked to the killing of a resident in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the operation followed the killing of Daniel Danladi, who was murdered on May 18 in Tanjol village.
A security expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed that between May 19 and May 20, troops launched a cordon-and-search operation across neighbouring Fulani settlements, including Luggere and Fass, in an effort to track down those responsible for the attack.
During the operation, three suspects identified as Umar Musa (65), Danjuma Mati (15), and Abdullahi Nora (67) were arrested at a Fulani hamlet in Luggere community.
Security sources further revealed that several other residents fled into nearby hills and bushes upon sighting advancing troops.
Authorities said the arrested suspects are currently undergoing interrogation and profiling to assist security agencies in identifying and apprehending the individuals directly involved in the killing.
Officials added that the ongoing operation is part of broader efforts to restore calm in Riyom LGA and prevent possible reprisal attacks across vulnerable communities in Plateau State.
