Terrorists Strike Again, Kill, Kidnap Across Ifelodun, Irepodun, Asa LGAs
The attackers, described as heavily armed and ruthless, have reportedly been targeting villages across the state with increasing boldness.
Ilorin, Kwara State– Kwara State is once again under siege as terrorists carried out a series of coordinated attacks across multiple communities, leaving residents in fear and mourning.
A source told Afrika Eyes on Sunday that the terrorists, currently operating in Agbeku, Ifelodun Local Government Area, have already killed one person and abducted several others.
The attackers, described as heavily armed and ruthless, have reportedly been targeting villages across the state with increasing boldness.
“They killed one person for now and kidnapped some people,” the source said, adding that residents have been thrown into panic as the attackers reportedly remain in the area,” the source said.
Another source said in Memudu village, Irepodun Local Government Area, three residents were kidnapped, just a day after the Ojibara of Bayagan, Alhaji Kamilu Salami, a traditional ruler, was abducted from his farm.
However, the local community is now on edge, fearing further attacks as the terrorists continue their reign of terror.
Meanwhile, in Obate village along Bala in Asa Local Government Area, a source tild Afrika Eyes that one Mrs. Rasheedat Suleiman was abducted by about 20 fully armed bandits at approximately 8 pm on Saturday.
According to a voice note obtained by AfrikaEyes, her husband recounted the horrifying ordeal:
“My wife was at the bathroom when the attackers came, and I was scrolling on my phone. Suddenly, I saw them. I watched how they kidnapped her and hid somewhere. I only came out after they were gone, fearing I would be taken as well.”
Authorities have been informed that the terrorists have contacted the families of the victims, demanding a ransom of N20 million.
However, the recent attacks mark a worrying escalation in insecurity across Kwara State, highlighting the growing threat posed by armed groups who continue to exploit rural communities.
Afrika Eyes had earlier reported that tension has returned to Eruku, a community in Ekiti Local Government Area of Kwara State, after terrorists abducted another resident on Sunday—barely a week after 38 kidnapped worshippers were freed in the same town.
Afrika Eyes learnt that the attackers, suspected to be Fulani/Bororo gunmen, stormed a farmland on the Eruku–Koro road at about midday.
They were said to be four in number and armed with AK-47 rifles and cutlasses.
“The Armed came with cutlasses and AK-47 rifles, the assailants invaded the farmland and kidnapped a man identified as Annas Aasanru, a native of Eruku, before escaping into the bush,” the source said.
