Terrorists Kidnap Police Inspector, Two Others In Kano, Beat Them On Camera As They Beg For Ransom
The abduction reportedly occurred while the victims were travelling from Rijiya Zaki motor park in Kano State to Kebbi State.
Kano State– Suspected bandits have abducted a police inspector serving at the Police Academy, Wudil, Kano State, alongside two other travellers, subjecting them to severe beatings while forcing them to plead publicly for ransom in a chilling video.
The kidnapped officer has been identified as Inspector Kabiru Bello Adamu, attached to the Police Academy, Wudil, while the two other victims are Muntari and Musa Rabiu (also known as Danladi), all from Tofa Local Government Area of Kano State.
The abduction reportedly occurred while the victims were travelling from Rijiya Zaki motor park in Kano State to Kebbi State.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the three men were intercepted along the route and taken into the forest by armed bandits.
In a disturbing video obtained by AfrikaEyes, the victims were seen in visible distress as armed terrorists pointed guns at their heads.
The captors were also seen flogging them with sticks and striking them with AK-47 rifles, even as the men begged for mercy and appealed to the public to help secure their release.
Speaking in the video, Inspector Kabiru Bello identified himself and nnarrated in hausa language how he fell into the hands of the attackers.
“My name is Kabiru Bello Adamu. I am a police officer working at the Police Academy, Wudil. Yesterday afternoon, I was on a journey, travelling to Kebbi to visit my relatives and former colleagues I worked with years ago,” he said.
“On the way, we encountered a calamity. We met armed bandits in the bush, and now we are in their hands.”
The inspector appealed emotionally for compassion, invoking religious sentiments and calling for peaceful resolution.
“We are asking Allah, Subhanahu wa Ta’ala, to grant us understanding between us and them. We have families and relatives. Let whatever comes in the end be resolved in peace,” he added.
Another victim, Muntari, also pleaded desperately in the footage.
“I am Muntari, from Kano, Tofa Local Government Area. Please, brothers and friends, help us in the situation we are in. For the sake of the Prophet, we are asking for mercy,” he said.
The third victim, Musa Rabiu, said they were heading to Birnin Kebbi when they were ambushed.
“We came from the new motor park heading to Birnin Kebbi town, and on our way, Allah caused us to encounter a calamity—we met forest bandits,” he said.
At one point in the video, Rabiu appeared to suggest that the captors were treating them kindly, prompting an angry response from one of the terrorists, who immediately challenged the claim.
Moments later, the abductors intensified the assault, beating the victims with sticks and using the butts of their guns on them.
Amid the blows, the three men could be heard crying out repeatedly:“Forgive us, forgive us! By Allah, please forgive us. Please help us, for Allah’s sake, help us.”
The incident is the latest in a string of kidnappings along highways in northern Nigeria, with worsening insecurity and the growing audacity of armed groups who now routinely film and circulate videos of abducted victims to pressure families and authorities into paying ransom.
As of the time of filing this report, there has been no official statement from the police authorities regarding the abduction or efforts to rescue the victims.
