Terrorists Invade Kwara Border Community, Kill Three As Fear Grips Koro-Egbe, Eruku Axis
Members of the Kemberi community were ambushed and shot dead by heavily armed bandits who stormed the area without warning.
Ilorin, Kwara State– No fewer than three people were killed in Koro communities along the Kwara–Kogi border by terrorists suspected to be bandits in Ekiti local government area of the Kwara State.
Afrika Eyes gathered that the attack reportedly occurred late on Monday evening, February 23, 2026, in the border area between Koro-Ekiti in Kwara State and Egbe in Kogi State.
Members of the Kemberi community were ambushed and shot dead by heavily armed bandits who stormed the area without warning.
Earlier in the day, residents reported prolonged gunfire between Koro and Eruku, heightening fears of coordinated assaults across the axis.
It was also gathered that the worsening insecurity may be linked to the growing activities of criminal elements believed to be operating from the nearby Ogbe Forest, which residents claim has recently become a suspected hideout for armed groups terrorising border settlements.
The latest killings have triggered panic among villagers, with many reportedly fleeing their homes for fear of further attacks.
As of press time, security authorities in both states had yet to issue an official statement regarding the incident.
However, residents are calling for urgent joint security operations to flush out the assailants and restore calm to the troubled border communities.
